    High Tech Architecture

High Tech architecture is characterised by the use of synthetic materials, metal frames, glass walls, flexible spaces and, above all, an honesty of expression and structure. Perhaps best known are the Pompidou Centre and Lloyd's building with their exposed services and structure. Here RIBApix features two galleries of High Tech architecture and one illustrating structures either particularly distinguished by their use of the technology of the day or their influence on future architects. For more information see our High Tech style guide and the story behind the Superstructures exhibition at the Sainsbury Centre.
